Chihuahua Group Rescue
Most chihuahua group rescue groups will provide a picture of available dogs and breeder info.
These dogs require a lot of attention and appreciate all sorts of interaction. They enjoy the company of same-breed dogs and can be okay with small non-canine animals. However, they are quite reserved with strangers and can be fairly aggressive towards larger dogs. They are notably protective around their loved ones and follow them around if there are strangers in the house. They are very intelligent and trainable, but can be stubborn and somewhat standoffish. This dog requires careful handling, because it has a very fragile body. Dogs with unclosed moleras and puppies are susceptible to head injuries.

This breed is rather special and it needs much human attention and love. Some people are charmed by these small creatures and buy them on impulse without knowing much about their personality and keeping requirements. Often such owners abandon the dogs and relinquish them. Dogs available for adoption are rarely perfect; they can have behavioral or health problems. Prior to adoption all dogs are kept in foster families that evaluate the animals and give them basic socialization and training, especially if they have been abused by the previous owner.
