As a rule, a picture of baby Chihuahua is very attractive and funny. Many owners have decided to buy a dog of this breed after seeing a picture of a baby Chihuahua. A practice of purchasing dogs on impulse often leads to sad consequences. Owners are not ready to provide their dogs with all they need and soon get disappointed with the breed in general. Many dogs are surrendered to rescues or shelters or just continue to live in the family, but are not given necessary care, training, exercise, and attention.

A picture of baby Chihuahua will not tell you much about the typical personality of the breed and keeping requirements of the puppy. After seeing a picture, impulsive buyers don’t think about their experience of dog ownership and skills in training small dogs. Irresponsible buyers just want to buy a cute and funny little creature. Some parents buy a Chihuahua puppy as a present for a child, which is absolutely wrong. A child cannot take up a responsibility of dog ownership even if he/she loves animals. Though small and funny-looking, the Chihuahua is a large dog in a small body. It should be socialized, trained, walked and played with. A Chihuahua can develop bad habits, if not trained and left on its own.

True fanciers of the breed usually learn everything they can about the puppy they are going to buy. They ask the breeder about the typical health and behavior problems in the bloodline and see the parents and the siblings of the puppy. Surely, responsible dog buyers avoid pet stores and backyard breeders that make their profit on impulsive buyers only. A picture of baby Chihuahua can be the first step to the decision of buying a dog, but it should not be the main reason for buying a pet.
